As part of their "Readings on Cinema" series, the Pacific Film Archives is bringing Daisuke Miyao, author of Sessue Hayakawa: Silent Cinema and Transnational Stardom to introduce three key Hayakawa films: The Cheat, Forbidden Paths, and The Devil's Claim. The films will be screened February 9 and 10, 2008.
I look forward to meeting Miyao in person after interviewing him over the phone for The Evening Class. Our conversation can be found here.
