What's fascinating are the varying levels of energy that are brought to the song without drastically changing the tempo, from the almost comatose (sultry?) languor of Perry Como and Julie London to the undeniably merrier Dean Martin, to the comparatively frenetic Michael Buble.

What drew me back to the song was actually Peter Cincotti's jazz cover, slowed to a somnolent seduction.
